The Nepali Association of Michigan (NEAM) is a non-profit organization dedicated to fostering a sense of community among Nepalis and friends of Nepal living in the Great Lakes State.
To promote and preserve Nepali culture, traditions, and language while providing a platform for socio-cultural exchange between the Nepali community and the broader Michigan populace. We aim to support newcomers, celebrate our shared heritage, and contribute positively to Michigan's vibrant diversity.
“A thriving, unified Nepali community in Michigan that honors its roots while embracing a future of collective growth and integration.”
Tracing the footsteps of the Nepali diaspora in the Great Lakes State.
A small group of visionaries met in Ann Arbor to discuss the need for a formal association. The Nepali Association of Michigan was officially incorporated as a 501(c)(3) non-profit.
The association expanded its annual events to include Dashain, Tihar, and the Nepali New Year, drawing hundreds of attendees from across Michigan and neighboring states.
Today, NEAM serves over 1,000 families, providing student scholarships, cultural workshops, and emergency community relief funds.
Our bylaws ensure that NEAM operates with the highest standards of integrity. We are governed by a democratically elected Executive Board and a Board of Trustees.
Every decision made at NEAM is guided by our formal constitution, ensuring representation for all members regardless of their background or tenure in Michigan. We hold annual general body meetings to review progress and elect leadership.
