1.Agreement to these terms
These terms govern your use of neamusa.org and the services offered through it by the Nepalese Association of Michigan ("NEAM", "we", "us"), a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. By using the site, creating an account, buying a ticket, or submitting a listing, you agree to them.
If you do not agree, please do not use the site. Our handling of personal information is described separately in our Privacy Policy.
2.Your account
Some features — membership, event registration, and your digital member ID — require an account. You agree to give accurate information, to keep your sign-in credentials to yourself, and to tell us promptly if you believe someone else is using your account.
You are responsible for activity that happens under your account. We may suspend or close an account that is used to break these terms or to harm other members.
3.Membership and dues
Membership runs for the term shown when you join and gives access to the benefits described on the membership page at that time. Benefits may change as the association’s programs change.
Dues are payable in advance. Membership does not renew automatically unless the site says so at checkout, and lapsed membership ends access to member-only benefits, including the digital member ID.
4.Event registration and tickets
Registering for an event holds the number of seats shown on your ticket. Tickets are issued as a PDF with a QR code, which is scanned at the door.
- A ticket admits only the number of people printed on it.
- Do not share or republish your QR code — anyone holding it may be admitted in your place, and a code already scanned will not be accepted again.
- Events may be rescheduled or cancelled. If NEAM cancels a paid event, ticket holders are offered a refund or a transfer to the rescheduled date.
- Attendees are expected to follow the venue’s rules and the directions of NEAM volunteers and staff.
5.Payments, donations, and refunds
Payments are processed by Stripe; we do not receive or store your card details. Prices are in U.S. dollars.
Donations to NEAM are voluntary gifts and are not refundable. Membership dues and event tickets may be refunded at the association’s discretion — email [email protected] before the event and we will do our best to help. Refunds for events cancelled by NEAM are described above.
NEAM is a 501(c)(3) organization; donations may be tax deductible to the extent allowed by law. We do not give tax advice — please consult your own advisor.
6.Community classifieds and submissions
Classifieds are a free service for the community. Listings are reviewed by an admin before they appear, and the contact details you enter are published with your listing so other members can reach you.
By submitting a listing, a photo, or any other content, you confirm that it is yours to share and that it is accurate, and you give NEAM permission to display it on the site and remove it at any time.
You may not post content that is unlawful, misleading, discriminatory, harassing, obscene, or that infringes someone else’s rights; commercial spam, chain messages, or fraudulent offers; or anyone else’s personal information without their consent.
NEAM does not verify listings and is not a party to any arrangement you make with another user. Deal with each other carefully, as you would with any classified advertisement.
7.Acceptable use of the site
You agree not to interfere with the site or the people using it. That includes attempting to break into accounts or systems, scraping or copying the site in bulk, disrupting the service, impersonating others, or using the site to break the law.
8.Our content
The NEAM name and logo, the site’s design, text, and photographs belong to the association or to the people who granted us permission to use them. You may share links to the site freely and reproduce short excerpts with attribution, but please ask before republishing photographs or full pages.
9.Third-party services
The site relies on outside services — Clerk for sign-in, Stripe for payments, Resend for email, Microsoft Azure for hosting — and may link to sites we do not control. Their terms govern their services, and we are not responsible for the content or practices of sites we link to.
10.Disclaimers and limits
The site and its services are provided as they are, without warranties of any kind. We work to keep information accurate and the site available, but we cannot promise it will always be error-free or uninterrupted.
To the fullest extent allowed by Michigan law, NEAM and its board members, volunteers, and staff are not liable for indirect or consequential losses arising from your use of the site, and our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in connection with it.
Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
11.Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as our programs and services change. The date at the top of the page shows the current version, and continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the updated terms.
12.Governing law and contact
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Michigan, USA, and any dispute will be handled by the courts located in Michigan.
Questions about these terms: email [email protected], call (248) 826-8271, or write to the Nepalese Association of Michigan, Wixom, Michigan, USA.
